Frequently Asked Questions

Why Offset with Forests?

According to the National Academy of Science reforestation is the most readily deployable and scalable technology currently available to fight climate change.

Further, SGS Global stated in a 2015 report that up to 15 billion tons of CO2 could be sequestered by report 800–900 million hectares of cleared agricultural lands to forests. This is roughly 20% of the world’s agricultural lands.  If brought to scale Reforestation and Improved Forest Management could achieve 10%–40% of the annual net CO2 emissions reductions required by 2030.

Finally, beyond sequestering climate endangering CO2 the positive impact of forests is exponential. Forests clean the water, provide habitat that ensures species richness, create jobs, and provide a mecca for recreation and relaxation.
